Bali is an Indonesian island located in the westernmost end of the Lesser Sunda Islands, lying between Java to the west and Lombok to the east. It is one of the country’s 33 provinces with the provincial capital at Denpasar towards the south of the island. The province covers a few small neighbouring islands as well as the isle of Bali.

With a population recorded as 3,891,428 in the 2010 census, the island is home to most of Indonesia’s Hindu minority. In the 2000 census about 92.29% of Bali’s population adhered to Balinese Hinduism while most of the remainder follow Islam. It is also the largest tourist destination in the country and is renowned for its highly developed arts, including traditional and modern dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metalworking, and music. Bali, a tourist haven for decades, has seen a further surge in tourist numbers in recent years.
Bali is surely the most renown island of Indonesia. It is famous for the diversity of its activities, in Bali you can find everything you wish. You have many different atmosphere and places that the island offers. You can enjoy the beautiful beaches, going from white to dark sands. You can surf in many different conditions, from beginners to advanced levels. You can find all the water sports you can think of in Sanur and around the island. There are some famous spots for diving in Amed and Tulamben, where you can dive on shipwrecks. The national park of Menjangan offers an incredible marine diversity (in Pemuteran, north of the island) and at less than an hour by boat, you can go swim with Manta Rays in Nusa Lembongan… Moreover, Bali is called the island of gods, because of the Hinduism religion of its population, there are many temples and sacred places to visit, in the middle of the jungle or behind a hidden cliff… It gives to the atmosphere of the island a mystic aspect that you will surely appreciate. If you are looking for hiking and high landscapes, you can hike the Mount Batur and Mount Agung which are two volcanos surrounded by interesting beliefs. On the other hand, you can take rest and get the most from your mind and body in places like Ubud where you can meditate in some professional yoga centres. Bali is full of diversity for every kind of activity and taste.
