Lombok is an island in West Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Barat or NTB) province, Indonesia. It forms part of the chain of the Lesser Sunda Islands, with the Lombok Strait separating it from Bali to the west and the Alas Strait between it and Sumbawa to the east. It is roughly circular, with a “tail” (Sekotong Peninsula) to the southwest, about 70 km across and a total area of about 4,725 km² (1,825 sq mi). The provincial capital and largest city on the island is Mataram. It is somewhat similar in size and density with neighboring Bali and shares some cultural heritage, but is administratively part of NTB along with sparsely populated Sumbawa. It is surrounded by a number of smaller islands locally called Gili.
The island is home to some 3.16 million Indonesians as recorded in the decennial 2010 census, and in 4 regencies along with the provincial capital Mataram.
Go to Lombok : Sea Express offers transfer from Bali (Sanur, Padang Bai or Amed) and from Nusa Lembongan to Lombok. The fast boat line to Lombok arrives in the harbor of Bangsal (North West Lombok) if the departure has been made from Amed. If you are coming from Sanur or Nusa Lembongan, you will arrive in Senggigi harbor. If you are coming from Padang Bai, you will be offered the possibility to arrive either in Bangsal or Senggigi harbor.
Leaving Lombok : If you want to go to Bali, Sea Express will advise you to book your departure from Bangsal or Senggigi according to the location you are staying but also according to where you want to arrive in Bali. If you want to arrive in Amed or Padang Bai, you should book a departure from Lombok from Bangsal harbor. If you prefer arriving in Sanur, you should only book your ticket with a departure from Senggigi harbor. If you plan to go to Nusa Lembongan, you should exclusively leave from Bangsal harbor in Lombok.
